What’s this role all about?
The Accountant is the first point of contact responsible for processing day-to-day accounting and finance transactions. In this role you will leverage your knowledge of internal company policies, general accepted accounting standards and good business practices to complete financial transactions while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of ProNavigator’s accounting information and financial records.
The key accountabilities of this role include:
- Generating and distributing invoices and account statements to clients, processing and recording associated payments and following up with clients as needed on delinquent payments
- Maintaining list of vendors in accounting systems, ensuring payment information is up-to-date and processing vendor invoices to be paid
- Processing bi-weekly employee payroll including maintaining and updating commission and bonus schedules on a monthly basis
- Ensuring accounting systems are setup and maintained by conducting regular accounting and reconciliation activities
- Preparing and remitting required sales, payroll and other taxes and preparing returns
- Assisting in month- and year-end close activities including internal and external audit activities and preparation of financial statements and reports
This is a part-time hourly independent contractor role. We anticipate the weekly hours of work will be between 20 and 30 but may be more or less at various times dependent on volume.

- 3+ years of previous experience in an accounting role and sound knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Post-secondary education in accounting / business program
- Proficient in using standard office software with previous experience using accounting software (experience in QuickBooks is an asset) and advanced skill in Microsoft Excel
- Analytical capabilities with the ability to effectively report on financial data and identify key insights
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to proactively engage with business stakeholders
- An autonomous learner who can react to change with agility and brings an entrepreneurial mindset which translates into new ideas and thought processes
- A drive to take ownership of everything you do from start to finish, demonstrating proactivity in completing deliverables and communicating status updates to leadership
- Exceptional organization and time management skills with a passion for attention to detail that ensures everything you do is of the highest quality
